From the very beginning, Google Classroom focused on simplifying tech, so that teachers and students could spend time on learning.  For the 2018-19 school year,  Google continues that mission and announcing the biggest refresh to Classroom since its launch in 2014.

In this session, we'll highlight the MOST recent updates to Google Classroom (with reference and links to additional ones) for 2018.
  1. Interface with the improved layout and design focusing on the new Classwork page.
  2. Classroom Topics ~ In response to being able to group assignments and other teacher requests, the Classroom team created the Classwork page with a  'Topics' feature.  
  3. A new addition to the CREATE is the 'Materials' option which can be used in combination with Topics to place your 'About' items on your Classwork page.  
  4. Improved grading & feedback feature with Comments Banks
  5. Notification upgrades for refining

  • See how 'comments' in documents for coaching learning and motivation/real time feedback
  • See how Comment Banks are used for private comments
